Careless Whisper

It's a song popularized by George Michael in mid 80's. He wrote it when he was seventeen. It became one of the most played songs of the decade and voted Londoner’s Favourite record of all time in January 1995 in a competition run jointly by the capital’s leading evening newspaper and radio station.

And now in the Philippines........

Bakit?

Here's the lyrics of the song:

I Feel So Unsure
As i take your hand
And lead you to the dance floor
As the music dies
Something in your eyes
Calls to mind a silver screen
And all its sad goodbyes

[Chorus]

I'm never gonna dance again
Guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool
I should have known better than to cheat a friend
And waste a chance that i've been given
So i'm never gonna dance again
The way i danced with you

Time can never mend
The careless whisper of a good friend
To the heart and mind
Ignorance is kind
There's no comfort in the truth
Pain is all you'll find

[Chorus]

Tonight the music seems so loud
I wish that we could lose this crowd
Maybe it's better this way
We'd hurt each other with the things we want to say
We could have been so good together
We could have lived this dance forever
But now who's gonna dance with me
Please stay

[Chorus]

Now that you've gone
Now that you've gone
Now that you've gone
Was what i did so wrong
So wrong that you had to leave me alone

Tsk...Tsk!

PRC released already the results of the recent CPA Board Examination.

I didn't make it!
I have no choice but to accept the fact that luck is not with me this time. It hurts! I did my best but I don't know what went wrong. Majority failed, so why worry? I care less about what other people might say.

I'll better try my luck next time. I am not losing hope. I'm positive that I can make it for the next board exam. Yes, I will courageously take the board exam this coming October. And hopefully I can make it!

CPA Board Exam Comments

May 2009 CPA Board Examination is over! It's a four-day exam covering 7 difficult subjects.

My comments in each subject:

Theory of Accounts. 3 hours is more than enough to answer the 80 questions given. Knowledge of the basic concept in each topic is of great help. It's not that difficult but it's tricky. Careful analysis is needed because all the choices given are most likely the same. Memorization is not that helpful.

Business Law and Taxation. 35 items were taken from Business Law and 35 items were taken from Taxation. Business Law Questions were easy because they can be found in ReSa's materials. Atty. It's guaranteed!." Well, its true even from previous examinations.

In Taxation, most questions were theories taken from Basic Concepts, Tax Remedies and Value Added Tax . There were also few questions from Donor's tax and Estate tax. No questions came out from the topics, Community Tax and Documentary tax. There were only 2 problem solving questions,if I'm not mistaken.

Management Services. 70 items combined theories and problem solving. Theories were difficult. It is a matter of guessing intelligently. It is a killer subject. Most examinees from previous exams failed on this subject. Familiarization of formulas and analysis in decision making are very helpful in solving each problem.

Auditing Theory. All theories but needs logical thinking and careful analysis. It's difficult. Mnemonics is very helpful in remembering the most important topics.

Auditing Problems. 8 Situations with total of 40 questions. Basic questions came out but it's tricky. Most questions asked were about components of balance, income statement and correction of error. Few questions asked from Stockholders Equity, Intangibles and Property Plant and Equipment.

Practical Accounting 1. 50 questions given and it's the most difficult among all. Nosebleed. Three hours is not enough to answer all questions. No choice but to make an intelligent guess. Hehe.

Practical Accounting 2. 50 questions.Average questions were given. Most questions were taken from the topics:Hedging, Business Combination and Cost Accounting. There's one theory question and few journal entry questions.

I am positive that my name will be listed as one of the CPA board passers. Hopefully!

The most awaited results will be released by PRC tomorrow. The pressure and thrill exist.

Good luck to all CPA Examinees. See you in the Oathtaking Ceremony!

Goodbye PeopleSupport!

April 23, 2007 to May 13, 2009.
Imagine how many days my nose is bleeding every time I speak with our American customers?
Now, it's over!

It's not an easy decision. I don't know if this is right. But circumstances left me no choice. I really need to focus on my review in preparation for the CPA Board Exam.

I hate to do this but my decision is final and irrevocable. Goodbye PeopleSupport!

After two years of working as a Call Center Agent in Orbitz Telesales, an international travel account, I formally tender a resignation. It hurts.

What would be my life after this????

This is exciting!!!

Pressure

Hindi basta basta nakakamit ang isang ambisyon.Kailangan paghirapan talaga. Bawal sumuko. Ang sumuko, talo!!!

Gusto kong maging CPA!

Pangarap ko noon pa. Pangarap na alam kong malapit ng matupad.

May 10. Board exam ko na. Feeling confident ako. Nakakakaba.

Pero there's no way out!!! Wala ng atrasan 'to!

Mahirap talagang pagsabayin ang work at studies.

Mahirap talaga magdesisyon. Mahirap.

LS 97 Ayos Gyud!

Ayos na ayos makinig sa LS 97. It's my favorite radio station!

I like to listen to Papa Dan's program, Wanted Sweetheart from 7pm to 11pm. It makes me laugh!!! Natatawa ako how he matchmake the girl and guy callers. Natatawa ako on how the callers answer questions and acted on the love scenarios given by Papa Dan and the texters.

Examples:
Sino ang kamukha mong artista?
Anong specialty mo?
At bakit?
Atbp!

If everything goes well, the conversation will end up by exchanging of mobile numbers op er (off air).

Mostly, callers are SG's. That is why, Papa Dan is likely called Patron Saint of the SG's. Peace! Hahahaha! Visit Papa Dan's friendster account: papadan971@yahoo.com and have a crush on him!!!

I like to listen to Papa Kiko and Papa Bear's program, Talk to Papa. It is aired live every 1pm with a replay after Wanted Sweetheart. If you have a problem on anything, you can give them a call for advice. They are funny, naughty and really gives good advices on listeners.

Sa LS 97, Ayos Gyud!

ECE Board Exam Leakage

The ECE Board Exam Results of the Philippine Regulation Commission will be announced tomorrow. But the results will not push through according to rumors because of alleged leakage released prior to the board exam. This is another serious controversy of yet another board exam of the PRC.

Is this true? Prior to the ECE Board exam, I was told by my housemates that their review center gave them some sort of possible questions that may come up in the board exam. This is usual. Regardless of the course, I believe all review centers in Philippines do this to help the reviewees in passing the difficult board exam.

After the two-day board exam, I was again told that they we're able to answer the exam on the second day much easier. They knew the answer to most questions because it was the same questions provided by their review center.

Now, do we consider their review center releasing leakage to the reviewees? Just like what happened to the Nursing board exam few years ago?

It may or may not be. Maaaring nagkataon lang siguro na 'yun ang napiling mga questions ng board of examinees in that particular subject.

What if after thorough investigation, it will be proven that there's really a leakage? Then, what's next?

Aspiring engineers will take the exam again?

Future Engineers

My housemates, Aed, Tofer, Mike, Athan and Juboness, graduated their Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering at St. Thomas Aquinas University in Bicol. They came here in Manila to attend review classes in preparation for the board exam. They took the exam on March 28 and 29, 2009. They exerted so much of their time studying their lessons hoping to be a full-pledge Engineers someday. I am positive that they can do it! Future engineers, congrats!

They're leaving the house. This is expected. They need to find their life somewhere else. Some of them will be back to their homeplace, others will stay some other place in Manila.

Bebe Gandanghari Fever

She's the former young actor, Rustom Padilla.

Rustom's transformation is the talk of the town. Who are they???

Condrado Uberita , a well-respected CPA, an author of various accounting books and a reviewer of a certain review school transformed to Ube Gandangrita after she realized that it's time to live life out of a closet.

My housemate, Julio Bonifacio Cadimas, a fresh graduate from a certain university somewhere in Bicol and currently taking review classes in a certain Engineering review center here in Manila, is now known as Juboness Gandangbaka. Why Gandangbaka? Because according to her, she owns more than a hundred of cows in Bicolandia.

Another housemate named Jerome, a freshman IT student is now known Tweetums Gandangdota. It is because her pasttime is playing Dota.

Gandanghari, Gandangrita, Gandangbaka and Gandangdota are now real woman sa isip, sa salita at sa gawa. Who could be the next?

C'mon don't hide the real you. Be out of the closet! Be one of them!

Accenture: What's happening?

Have you heard of the latest news in the call center industry?

It's all about Accenture, a US-based firm that deals with global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing .

Accenture is laying off almost half its workforce in the Philippine capital due to the effects of the global financial crisis. Accenture Philippines has filed a notice of retrenchment for about 500 workers out of a total headcount of more than 16,000 employees at its facilities in Manila.

This is alarming to call center folks. Hopefully, this may not be a start of the laying-off of employees in other call center companies.

No to Blogging

I refrain myself from blogging now. I'm very busy-not doing nothing-but reviewing all my lessons in accounting in preparation for the upcoming CPA Board Exam.

Wish me luck!

SILA na pumasok na lang dahil nasasayangan din sa 30% on top of the basic salary for the first 8 hours.
