Laguna Invasion Part 1

I couldn't explain what I felt that very day when we headed our way to Laguna. Maybe because excited na rin to reach the land of Laguna, hindi pa kasi ako nakakapunta du'n e since birth. Or perhaps kasi makakasama ko the very people na naging part ng life ko when I was a teacher. I was once a teacher. I'm not quite sure yet if babalik pa ako sa tinatawag nilang noble profession. Pero in reality, I like teaching. Joke! Hehe.

Let's back to Laguna trip. It was about 6 pm siguro 'yon when I was carrying a huge backpack bag with matching body bag and airpot along the road.

We waited and waited for how many minutes before we finally headed our way to Laguna. Sa jeepney, superdami kami so medyo some of us was uncomfortbale siguro kasi siksikan to the max. Well, it was owkie naman kaya lang it so nakaka-stiff neck kasi wala akong masandalan and it so nakakaantok talaga. 'Yong iba did some story telling...some were listening to the music...others were sleeping...may nagtetext...may nakatunganga lang...others naman nang-aasar lang.

Stopover kami somewhere in the area na hindi ko alam. Hindi ko man lang naitanong what place 'yon. Basta maraming fast food chain doon. 'Yon lang ang na-remember ko sa place. Others were quite gutom kaya bumili sila ng foods and drinks. Wala man lang nanlibre sa akin. Hehehe.

After more than a couple of hours travel from Balut, we reached our destination. Kaya lang we don't have property yet to stay. Maraming guyz du'n na nag-oofer ng accomodation, however rates wasn't good sa bulsa kaya some were taking the initiative to find one na affordable na good place. I did nothing then, nakatunganga lang waiting to have a place to stay. Wala kasi akong alam sa buhay at mas lalong walang pakialam sa mundo. Hehe!

Maya-maya lang.....we have a place to stay na.The place was quite nice. It has one private pool na kami lang ang pwedeng mag-swim that moment, may videoke machine na sila-sila lang ang pwedeng kumanta kasi hindi ako marunong. We occupied three room then. I put in all my stuffs in the room where I prefer to sleep. When we get there, some prepared the foods. Others just did nothing including me. Some started to sing. I've heard voices of Sir Rey and Sir Eilder na lumilipad sa ere.Hehe. It was then I discovered na they do have hidden talents in singing.Sino kaya sa dalawa ang trying hard? Hehe. Hehe.

Eating time. Well, I just ate a little.Konti lang kasi ang kanin.Hehehe.
After a little a rest, kanya kanyang gimick na. There were some singing in the videoke others were swimming na. To my shock, I couldn't believe where the conversation brought too far...it was hitting below the belt na talaga...(you know what I mean?). Ayoko ng ikwento here kahit maganda ang pinag-uusapan namin...nila pala. Hindi ba nila naisip na I was there listening to them? Bata pa ako, don't they know that? Learning all those stuffs is a big no no for a young guy like me. Hehe.

Maya maya....I transformed! Well, not just like with the movie I saw Transformers na ang car naging robot...I transformed in a way na nag-change lang naman ako ng costume pampaligo.Hehe. I wore a short na may printed coconut trees na walang bunga with matching pink t-shirt. I wasn't best in costume ang dating, ano na lang ang sasabihin ng iba kapag natalbugan sila, di ba? I've heard some chismax na meron daw'ng ibang bumili pa ng damit pampaligo sa isang boutique....bongga siya ha...pinaghandaan talaga ng todo ang trip. Sino kaya sila? Alam ko, however silent night lang ako.

Hindi pa sana ako maliligo nun sa swimming pool...maya maya na sana...kaya lang there was this guy na bigla na lang akong hinila that made me tapon to the pool. Gosh! Sino kaya 'yon? I totally forgot na talaga. Hehe.

Sa pool, marami na ring nag-si-swimming. Naki-join na lang ako sa mga new teachers kahit na some of which ay kakikilala ko lang. They initiated a game daw...sali naman ako. The game was lulusong ata 'yon sa water tapoz ung huling aahon ang consider na winner. Well, I thought na totohanan 'yon, hindi pala! (Sir Jeff, Sir Michael,Ms. Muaña, Ms. Escobio, Ms. Tinoco...pazzawhy kau) After all, of all people, ako pa? Hehe.Well, that's fine kaya the next time around, I voluntered myself to be the judge na lang para hindi na ako sasali sa game....ako na lang ang taga-judge sa kanila. Hehe. Good idea. right?

Marami pang happenings....Basta
There was this dance showdown ni Ms. A, Ms. Rea and Ms. SJ
There was this habulan moment ni Ms. A at Kuya Dong
There was moment na forcefully akong itinulak ni Kuya Dong sa pool which cause a sugat to my lovely tuhod.
There was picture taking,of course.
There was this 'suka' moment ni Ms. Muaña.
There was this 'Iiyak na 'yan' asaran moment kay Ms. Tinoco.
Basta. Marami pang kawindang-windang na mga pangyayari within the pool. Secret ko na lang 'yong iba.

Moving forward......
After hours of swimming moment, natulog na 'yong iba...the rest nagkantahan at nag-inuman.In the middle of our drinking moment....nasa climax na kami nu'n ng bigla! ay may di-kanais-nais na nangyari na naging dahilan ng pagkatigil ng having fun temporarily. This was this guy kasi na.......ayokong ikwento ang buong happenings baka masuntok pa niya ako. hehe

Gosh! Wala na kaming Sprite. Lumabas kami...bumili...at may na-discover akong something sa dalawa kong mga kasama....they do **** pala.Hehe. Peace tayo!
After few minutes, I decided to sleep na.Mga 3 am na siguro 'yon. Hehe.

Nagising ako that very morning na superzakit head ko.
Check out namin 12 noon. Return trip na kami.

Hindi pa kami nakakalayo....nang bigla....na-stranded kami...hindi ko alam kung ano ang nangyari sa jeep na 'yon...trouble engine ata.I don't know. Basta we waited sa daan for an hour before naayos ng driver ang dapat aayusin.
While waiting.......storytelling lang.
Nag let's play the rosary pa kami....

'Til Next Time

After Retreat Scandal

SRPS Teacher’s Retreat
I arrived home safe and sound. I bought some bread for my breakfast. But I didn’t eat it because I need to attend the mass first. I just changed my shirt and headed my way to San Rafael Parish with my housemate, Andrea.

At church, we came in late. The celebrant was in the middle of his homily. I couldn’t remember what his sermon was all about. Some teachers of SRPS were there gracing the show, I mean, attending the mass. The mass ended with peace and harmony as the priest usually says….So, I went back home for a sole purpose…to sleep.

At home, after completing my breakfast, I went to sleep. After three hours of good sleep, I woke up because someone came in and woke me up. Andrea, the gal who wake me up from a wonderful daydream. Gosh! Added to my gosh was the idea of something…something she informed me. She texted me before her dramatic arrival regarding that pretty good idea, however, I was in my deep deep sleep and my phone couldn’t wake me up since I set it in a silent mode. I immediately got the energy of being a Cinderella in the modern world-I mean-I cleaned some of the mess in our room.

After few moments, my two eyes caught same faces of Sir Peñaflor, Ms. Escobio, Ms. Tinoco and Sir Nicolas as they stepped in our room. The four already sat on the bed when Sir Danganan came in. Chit-chats started. The social drinking formally commenced when Andrea and Sir Michael arrived along with a bottle of hard liquor, softdrinks and some junk foods. Except Sir Danganan and Sir Nicolas, the rest visited our room for the first time in history.

Speaking of History, Sir Nicolas, Sir Michael and Ms. Tinoco were Social Studies graduates. Lots of queries in history that needs an answer, probably they could be of help in answering those.

Chitchats continued….After a couple shots of liquor, I felt something unusual…my head started aching as if I wanted to sleep. So I laid my body down to sleep. However, Sir Nicolas said: “Sir, senyales na ‘yan.” He said that because the last time we drink, I slept while the drinking moment was going on. I realized it was so unethical if I sleep while they’re having fun.

Why should I not join the fun? They drunk some more. I drunk some more too. Some smoked cigarette. I tried it too. Honestly, I didn’t smoke. I believe it was my third time to smoke. The first instance was when I felt bored staying alone at home. The second time was when we had our vacation at Laguna. I don’t want to make it a habit. Government warning: Cigarette smoking is dangerous to our health.

I texted Ms.Muaña to come and join us in having fun but she declined. She had to do something much more important than drinking. Laughs! I received a text message from Ms. Orbi asking me if I was drunk. I replied I wasn’t. Based on actions, I believed I was, however, I just pretended I wasn’t.Laughs!

What happened next were shocking realities.
There was this ’suka’ moment of Sir Michael.
There was both crying and suka moment of Andrea.
There was hilo effect of Ms. Tinoco.
There was sleeping effect of Sir Jef in the restroom.

The happenings were strange and funny but I didn’t laugh out loud. I just stayed in the corner doing nothing…just thinking
I thanked God I did not do something strange…anything unusual just like what they did. I strongly believe it wasn’t their intention to behave that way. Should I say they were possessed with the spirit of liquor? Come to think of what happened after the SRPS teachers retreat. Gosh!

Josh and Angelo were also in the house witnessing what’s happening. The very first I met Josh was when he attended the reunion of his uncle’s scholars somewhere in Bohol. After 6 years, I didn’t expect to see a totally different Josh. I wasn’t on the know regarding the happenings when I left them to attend to my work.Actually, couple of hours before my shift, I called Forcedesk Manila in the company where I am in informing them that I couldn’t come to work because I have headache. However, for some reasons, I forced myself to come to work. I reached my station and immediately informed my supervisor if I could go on undertime. After a couple of hours, my special request was granted so, I went home.I slept…….

The Real Score

I don’t have any plans to be part of a call center industry. I’m an accountancy graduate kaya I need a job that suits best to my degree.

I was a certified computer teacher then earning not that much money as I am earning now. Siguro na-realized ko that time na I need more than what I earned as a teacher . In short, I was looking for a greener pasture .That is why I tried searching jobs online via www.jobstreet.com and I bought some newspapers from time to time just to get another job. I applied through the internet. Many called my mobile and sent me e-mails for the job interview daw. Well, at that time, I was quite busy with my teaching career, that’s why I did not show up every time there are job interviews.I still remember ung sinabi sa’kin ng co-teacher kong si Ms. Santos na paano daw ako makakahanap ng work if hindi ko naman sinisipot ang mga job interviews. Dapat daw, bigyan ko ng time ung mga job interviews, bahala na dw kung mag-absent ako sa work total naman daw, I m planning to resign.

Tama nga naman siya! Mind you, nasa Dubai na pala siya ngayon, working for good.

The first call center company I applied was the Vision X. I learned about the company through Manila Bulletin. I was quite interested in their job openings kaya I applied online and after 24 hours, I received a call from them for a job interview. The area is located at RCBC Plaza somewhere in 20 something floor. My application was not successful .My interviewer told me that I need to wait for their call because they still have to review my resume daw.

Ows? Alam ko na ung style na ganu’n. Pakunswelo de bobo effect! Ganu’n naman talaga ‘yon e, kapag hindi ka qualified sa job o ayaw ng interviewer sau o hindi ka pumasa sa standard ng interviewer, they will say that “Just wait for us to call u” or “We will just call u” which is normally the case, hindi ka naman talaga tatawagan. So, wala akong nagawa at that very moment kundi umuwi na lang kesa naman ipagsiksikan ko pa ang sarili ko sa kanila.

In the road, there was this lady….i don’t know her and she’s not that beautiful, just to say. Take note, kasama pa niya ang mother niya ha. Chaperon ba. The lady asked the street vendor if alam ba nito ang Peoplesupport daw kasi nga tinawagan daw siya for job interview. Hearing them with their conversation, my two eyes saw a building named ‘PeopleSupport’. Well, the HR Recruiter interviewed me and I passed the initial interview. Then I took the exam and out of almost 30 hopefuls, 8 of us passed. The exams covered English basics such as grammar and comprehension skills, there's audio test as well as typing test. Mabuti na lang at pumasa ako. I did not expect it. Awesome!

I was not available for the job offered sometime in January 2007. December kasi nun nong nag-apply ako at April pa ako available after I finished my contract with my first job. But it was alright then. May makakain pa naman ako. Hindi pa naman ako ganu’n kahirap at that time.

I applied another call center company. Na naman? Successful naman ang application dun.Hindi ko na lang sasabihin ang name ng call center na un to protect the company’s prestige. Ows? I successfully passed the initial and final interview as well as the difficult exam and verbal assessment.

Hay Salamat! I was scheduled then for a communication skills training for 5 days. I called them twice to ask my training schedule kaya lang hindi pa daw fixed ang schedule. I just have to wait for their call pa daw.I was waiting them to call me more than a month pero wala pa rin. I did sign already a contract that I will be joining the training.Huh! Parang nawalan na ako ng nterest to be part of their company then kaya bumalik ako sa Peoplesupport at nag-reapply.Successfully,I passed the challenges and scheduled for the job offer thereafter.

Kaya lang, I received a call ng nasa third floor na ako from a certain staff ng isang Recruitment agency na inaplayan ko din. Just for background check lang daw. Tinanong ako if asan daw ako. Sinagot ko naman na nasa bahay lang ako which is a lie.

Ur in Peoplesupport, right?” that was his or her (he’s gay kasi) next question. Nagulat ako. Paano kaya niya nalaman na andun ako.Oh my God!!!! I have a pending application with Peoplesupport. Drama!

Kaya nag-apply ako sa ibang call center indurtries like Eperformax and 24/7 but then again my application wasn’t successful. Wala na akong work at that time kasi nga nakapag resigned na ako kaya I badly needed a job. Kaya ang ginawa ko, napipilitan man, I came back to PS to reapply, this is for the third time,u know! Kaya lang when I submitted my resume, the HR Recruiter asked me if I applied before and I answered Yes and I am for job offer kaya lang hindi ko nasiput kasi nga may emergency. Emergency? There’s no emergecy at all. Kaya ayon pinaakyat na lang ako sa third floor for the job offer at pag-uwi ko that day, I got a job at mag-start na ako ng training on Monday kasi Wednesday un. But before that, I need first to comply all the necessary requirements they need from me.Hay salamat! I got the job and this time, this is for real.
At last!And now……
I’m a regular employee!!!!

One School Year

San Rafael Parochial School has its own story to tell.No one would dare to share it in public. Until I came to reveal the happenings behind every significant event. My one school year of stay at SRPS was more than enough to be on the know on what's going on.Though, I'm not connected anymore with SRPS, but I'm still updated with the latest chikka.

Let's reveal the unexposed....Let's uncover everything....Let's discover the hidden truth...

Guyzzzz,here we go!!!!

My Arrival at SRPS
May 19, 2006, I arrived at San Rafael Parochial School of Tondo, Manila to be part of SRPS workforce.School bookkeeper and computer teacher were the jobs waiting for my arrival .No resume and application letter submitted. No formal interview conducted. At an instant, I was hired. It was because the director of the school happened to be my benefactor who supported my studies in college.

At the Finance Office
The day after my arrival, I was then exposed to some accounting works in the Finance office. It was Che Canalda who gave me all the necessary information I need to do my job as a bookkeeper. She was looking then for a greener pasture that's why she was leaving and pass on bookkeeping task on me. The task was just an ordinary accounting stuff which I always encounter when I was in college.\

Rojay Degamo's Arrival
We were waiting for the arrival of Mr. Rojay Degamo to complete the San Rafael Parochial School's set of teachers. At last, he came. With Ma. Theresa Amigo, we headed our way to the pier to fetch him.

Newbies on the making!
We're busy a week before classes starts in preparation for everything we need. We're cleaning our respective classroom, decorating something to make it good in the eyes. Basta. We did also encoding in the computers the scope and sequence for each subject to be submitted to our Academic Coordinator, Ms. Leonida Pastrana as soon as possible.

First Day High
First day of class was memorable to me. My new acting role of being a computer teacher commenced. Everything was just an acting...how could u imagine a hunkie-punkie accountancy guy transformed into a noble teacher who knew nothing about teaching profession. Why teaching? I don't really know the answer. Believe it or not, I rehearsed what should I say and how would I say it at home many many times. Because I don't want to face my students not being ready in the battle.Third year class was the first class I ever had. I could felt my voice trembling and my knees shaking the very moment I stepped in their door. "This is it!" was the very phrase I uttered. I just introduced myself and I let the students introduced themselves too. I also informed them the rules and regulations in my class. After that very first class, everything was alright.

Rojay Degamo's Exodus
Rojay Degamo just experienced few days of teaching but he decided to back out.He used to be the adviser of Grade 4 class then. Though, the academic coordinator, Ms. Leonida Pastrana and the school director, Fr. Biliran, did not want to let him go. But still, Mr. Degamo insisted to fly back home without justifiable reason.

Here comes Sir Jay-Are!
Rojay's exodus gave Jay-are's chance to teach. Nardito Rodriguez Jr's replaced Rojay as the adviser of Grade 4 class. With Jay-are's presence, SRPS dance troupe came into its existence.

Who was evicted?
After I dismissed my computer class that very day, I noticed him I asked him why a sudden silent. Jay are known to be a jolly person. He then let me read a letter from the administration and I was terribly shock upon knowing that he was already terminated from the service. The reason: He just punched lang naman a Grade 3 pupil in the stomach. The pupil naman was nagsumbong sa parents. The parents naman pumunta sa school to file complain against him.Just then and there, he was fired.

Ms. Espiritu's Invasion
Jean Carla Espiritu was supposed to be a substitute kindergarten teacher for Ms. Joyrouth Denoy who was on maternity leave.Due to Mr. Nardito Rodriguez eviction, she then took the evictee's position for the meantime as a Grade 4 adviser.Temporarily, classes left by Teacher Joy was distributed evenly to available teachers.

Look who's in the campus!
After thorough evaluation of credentials...after critical appraisal of teaching demonstration...after the administrators unanimous decision...Ms. Mariciel Quitaleg, a young lady from Urbiztondo, Pangasinan came to join the SRPS teaching staff. She replaced Ms. Espiritu as the Grade 4 adviser. Can you imagine that she was the fourth adviser of the Grade 4 pupils for SY 2006-2007? Meanwhile, Ms. Espiritu joined again the Kindergarteners.

Sir Rutchel took his final wave
People come...people go.It so happened that Mr. Rutchel Nicer, a Science teacher for five years made a wise decision to leave SRPS and try his luck abroad. His position was vacated for almost a month.

Welcoming the new Science Teacher!
After a month of quest for the right individual who will take Sir Rutchel's vacated position, Mr. Jeffrey Peñaflor adjudged to be the right one. He was a graduate of Navotas Polytechnic College.

Look! who's new!
Ms. Gina Amarillo, a Social Studies teacher took a leave from work giving Ms. Kristine Tinoco to take her place temporarily.

Ms. Alma Nicolas in the house!
Ms. Lolita Lugtu, the Grade 3 adviser tendered his resignation for some reasonable reasons. Her resignation gave way for Ms. Alma Nicolas to be part of SRPS family.

Substitute Teachers!Goodbye!
Ms. Kristine Tinoco and Ms. Jean Carla Espiritu waved their hands to SRPS family to take another oppurtunities outside the campus. Ms. Gina Amarillo and Ms. Joyrouth Taclob were back after a couple of months on leave.

The Birth of Tres Marias
Ms. Ma. Theresa Amigo, Ms. Mariciel Quitaleg and Ms. Alma Nicolas were the Tres Marias in the campus. It was yours truly who christened them with that name.Actually, it was originally Tres Marias Bruhildas de Malditas but I then realized that it was too long name so, I modified it.Why Tres Marias? It was because they were the three neophyte lady in the school who usually did some gimmicks inside or outside the campus. They were the once who api api me throughout my acting teaching role in the world.

Ms. Santos' Wise Decision
Life wasn't that easy for Ms. Cherrylyn Santos then. She was the adviser of Grade 5.She was given the rare oppurtunity of working abroad. She filed a resignation but it was not instantly approved by the administrators. It took hermuch effort to convince the admin to approve it. Upon approval, she requested me and Ms. Gina Amarillo do her remaining paper works. Without hesitation, she got our nod.She took her wings and fly to Dubai before the classes ends on March 2007.

School Year 2006-2007 ended with peace and harmony!!!!
